  1. Skaladi's Village Development

Skaladi Village is the first village to become a village assisted by the SEAD community in carrying out the mission of eradicating illiteracy for the younger children of the Anak Dalam Tribe. Located in Kec. Mestong Regency. Muaro Jambi. The distance from Jambi City to Skaladi Village itself can be traveled in approximately one hour via the causeway and continued on rocky ground for 30 minutes. The condition of the people in Skaladi itself has experienced a transition in terms of: the way they dress, the economic aspect and also the housing infrastructure. Most of SAD Skaladi children do not receive formal education.

This is because the location of the residential area of SAD Skaladi residents is relatively far from educational support facilities. There is a difference in treatment between children who go to school and SAD children who do not go to school by residents who live in areas outside the village of Skaladi because of the gap that exists. For other supporting facilities, there is only one prayer room there, while for health conditions their access is quite far from adequate. Even for MCK activities, they still rely on rivers for sanitation.

The minimal participation of the SAD Skaladi children was due to the distance between their houses being quite far from the location of the study hut, so volunteers were required to be willing to pick them up so they would study together. Achievements in the development of the Skaladi village are that they are now aware of the need to study without being picked up by volunteers and are targeted to be able to take the Package A exam in 2022.

  1. Hajran Village Development

SAD, which lives right around the Serengam River or better known as Hajran Village, is the third village supported by the SEAD Jambi community. Located in District. Bathin XXIV Kab. Batanghari.

It is the furthest assisted village with a distance from Jambi City that takes around 4-5 hours to travel by taking the Sumatra highway then continuing via a suspension bridge that connects the highway to the village road which is also a traffic route for coal companies. This road will become slippery during the rainy season and very dusty during the dry season.

SAD Hajran Village, Bathin XXIV District, Batanghari Regency, is a SAD with primitive characteristics and a culture that is still strong. They tend to keep their distance from outsiders and have strong beliefs and customs, so it was a challenge for the volunteers to initiate good communication with them, but over time they were able to accept our arrival and understand the purpose of our arrival there.

  1. Medak Village Development

Located in the ex-peat forest area on the Jambi-South Sumatra border, precisely in Kec. Bayunglencir District. Musi Banyuasin. This is the third village to become a village assisted by SEAD Jambi. The journey to Medak Village takes 2 routes, land and river. From Jambi to the village it can be reached in approximately 3 hours to the halfway house where the volunteers leave their vehicles and continue by using a small boat (ketek) or a larger boat (cangap) for 30-40 minutes sailing along the canal which is surrounded by residual views. -The remains of logging have now been converted into a peat forest area towards the SAD residential area of Medak village.

Some of the children are familiar with calistung as their initial provision, thanks to 2 SEAD Jambi volunteers who live in the village and facilitated by JOB Pertamina Talisman Jambi-Merang. In 2018, thanks to this collaboration, 7 SAD children in Medak Village successfully participated in the Elementary School Equivalency Program or Package A. Then after the children were declared administratively graduated, they lived in a foster home called Umah Nadhira, which is an initiation SEAD Jambi collaborates with Pertamina Hulu Energi JambiMerang, the Rice Infaq Movement and SEAD Jambi donors, to attend formal school and daily activities in Jambi City. This year, SEAD Jambi and Pertamina Hulu Energi Jambi-Merang are again targeting 2 SAD children in Medak Village to be able to take part in the Program Equivalent to Elementary School or Package A and continuing education to formal school
